| Lakin F. Ryan, 91, of Gandeeville WV died at 2:57 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
He was born October 1, 1921, at Ryan, a son of the late John Francis and Tressie Ellis Ryan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Alderman Ryan; a daughter, Shelva Ryan Evans; and a sister, Sybill Nichole.
Mr. Ryan was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local 1159, Pt. Pleasant. Also, he was a member of the Southern States Co-Op, Spencer and the Roane County Farm Bureau. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Wendy Ryan of Gandeeville; two granddaughters, Amber and Courtney Ryan.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial, with military rites accorded by the West Virginia Honor Guard, will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville.
Friends may call two hours before the service at the funeral home.
