Carol Lucille Sanatar, 80, of Spencer WV died at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the CAMC - Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
She was born October 17, 1932 in Maspeth NY, the daughter of the late Carl and Lucille DeMaso Sanatar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Maguire; a great granddaughter, Gracie Walker; and a sister, Dorothy Zerillo.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Also, while raising her family, she worked for many years in retail sales. A strong supporter of the efforts to rescue animals, she welcomed them, especially cats at her home. She was a student of life, who continued increasing her knowledge in a general study of a variety of subjects.
Survivors include a son, James Maguire of Butler PA; two daughters, Marilyn Goldstein of Lawrenceville NJ and Kimberly Parsons of Spencer; three grandchildren, Mark Goldstein, CJ Walker and Jason Walker; three great grandchildren, Anthony Browning, Gabriel Walker and Tessa Walker; a sister, Pauline Martin of Gainesville FL.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, where a short service will be held at approximately 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Chris Stout officiating.
A funeral procession will leave at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7 from the funeral home to the place of burial, Evergreen Cemetery North, Parkersburg.
In keeping with her concern for the care of animals, the family has requested donations to the Animal Shelter of your choice.
