Caitlin Wilkinson, an 8th grade student at Calhoun Middle/High School, won the county-level competition of the National Geography Bee earlier this year.
To qualify for the state competition, Wilkinson was required to take a written test, where only the top state scorers would compete for the state title. Wilkinson was recently notified by National Geographic's Washington D.C. headquarters of her eligibility.
Wilkinson will travel to Concord University in Athens, WV on Friday, April 5, 2013 to compete.
