MOM SHOOTING - West Virginia State Police in Bluefield say one mother is dead and another in jail following a deadly shooting that was the result of an argument earlier on a school bus between their children.
Judith Kowaleski, 42, of Bluefield has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Elizabeth Slagle, 42, also of Bluefield.
The criminal complaint says, Kowaleski, her aunt and Slagle apparently exchanged phone calls and text messages before meeting at a spot where the shooting occurred.
A witness, identified in the criminal complaint as Kowaleski's boyfriend, said Slagle had 'tased' Kowaleski and a relative who accompanied her to the scene before she was shot.
The witness, according to the complaint, says that Kowaleski then shot Slagle.
HOME INVADER WIELDS KNIFE - Huntington Police have arrested a suspect wanted in a home invasion, identified as
Timothy McComas, 48.
Police say McComas was wanted in regards to an armed home invasion where he held a woman at knifepoint and made her husband give cash and medicines.
McComas, who had been married to the victim's daughter, made off with $120 and two bottles of medication, according to the criminal complaint.
McComas was taken to Western Regional Jail, charged with first degree robbery.
PARKERSBURG POLICE DISCOVER CACHE -
A Parkersburg policeman checked a car parked
on a lot, the driver initially appearing unresponsive.
The officer observed
a large machete inside the vehicle, asking the man to
exit the car.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly produced three
(3) machetes, a loaded .38 revolver, a loaded 9mm
semi-automatic handgun, numerous knives, a small amount
suspected marijuana and methamphetamine, three (3) sets of
digital scales, individual plastic baggies, various drug
paraphernalia and $1,200.00 in cash.
Joseph Russell Mason, 22, was taken into custody without incident
and charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent
to deliver and felony possession of methamphetamine with
intent to deliver.
