Are you a serious gardener or farmer interested in selling your locally grown fruits or vegetables to local markets through an organized group of West Virginia regional farmers? If the answer to this question is "yes," the Mid-Ohio Valley Growers Association provides the perfect opportunity for you to market your products. The Mid-Ohio Valley Growers Association (MOVGA) invites you to attend its first membership meeting on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Heritage Park Community Building in Spencer, WV starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Association's board of directors will be present an overview of the newly formed Association's goals and discuss how they will aggregate the produce from members to sell to large local customers (including schools, other institutions, and restaurants), who want fresh, consistent, and locally grown vegetables throughout the extensive growing season.
The annual membership fee for the Association is $20.00 and they are currently accepting applications for the 2013 season. You can be part of this! Supporters of a local food economy are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn how they can support this new effort in the Mid-Ohio Valley Region, too.
For directions to Monday night's meeting, please call the WVU-Roane County Extension Office at (304)927-0975. If you are unable to attend Monday's meeting, but would like to learn more about the Association, please contact Keith at 304-477-4100 or kkfinger62@gmail.com
