Rev. Keith Belt filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church. A local fellow who likes to maintain a low profile repaired the damage done to the door of the church when the key was lost. His work was much appreciated.

Everett D. Sampson, age 83, of Creston passed away. He was the son of the late Howard & Eva Nutter Sampson.

Charles Russell was calling on Parris Parsons, Ray Gumm and brother Euell at the Miletree Center in Spencer.

The snow went away and the turkey buzzards returned and the spring peepers are now peeping. Speaking of buzzards, one fellow noted that one of the invasive, non-native black buzzards had a wingspan of 56". The black buzzards pick out the eyes of newborn calves, lambs, etc. and also target people.

The Wirt Oil & Gas Group will meet Saturday, March 16th at 9 A. M. at the high school auditorium in Elizabeth. All interested folks should try to attend for an update on the leasing of a large block of Marcellus shale acreage. Recently Statoil, Norsk Hydro paid $8,000/acre for some Marcellus acreage and Antero, the Denver based firm that has been drilling like mad in Ritchie, Doddridge & Harrison Counties, as well as elsewhere, paid $647 million for the leases Enron [Exco or North Coast] had in Doddridge & Ritchie Counties. As part of the deal some of the old wells had to be plugged including one that, after removing the bridge plug had 1200 lb of pressure and flowed 80 bbl of Pennsylvania grade crude oil.

Edwin "Beau" Wriston announced that he would be giving a speech in Creston on March 19th. He is on a speachifying tour of the county. He has talked at Creston before but during the power outage he spent all his time in the air conditioned Court House in Elizabeth. The government mandated fast time started again. It seems that "the wise ones" aren't happy unless they can tell us what to do at every turn. Speaking of mandates [and madness] the RNs down at the infusion center at Camden Clark Hospital have great concerns about the future of medical care.

Now it has been suggested that no one over age 56 be allowed to have kidney dialysis. Paul Krugman, a voice for the powers that be, admitted that death panels would be necessary and it is obvious to all that the quality of health care will decline and all incentives for new and improved techniques, drugs and treatments will be quashed "like a bug". One fellow noted, "It's not health care; it is population control."

A number of area residents attended the Taste of West Virginia reception sponsored by the W. Va. Farm Bureau and the W. Va. Forestry Association for the West Virginia legislature that is meeting down at the Mouth of the Elk. The lawmakers seem to be busy dealing with prison overcrowding [there is plenty of room in the facility at Moundsville and by now the lily livered judge that closed it should be living in luxury in Myrtle Beach or some other haven for rich retired political hacks.] and school reform after the very bad audit of the system that was run by ex attorney general Darrell McGraw's wife who went by another name but was fired by the Manchin appointees on the state school board.

Speaking of Darrell McGraw, on his last day he filed a lawsuit against Nationwide Insurance because of their agency agreement with the W. Va. Farm Bureau who supported his opponent who was elected. Nothing like taking revenge using one's political position and taxpayer money.

One of the topics of discussion in state and even WVU circles is the growing of local food and the problems when the nation collapses [spoken of course in nicer words but reflecting that shipments of foods from elsewhere might be impossible, etc.]. It is being encouraged that lots of folks grow produce to sell which is, of course, an excellent idea. It was noted that there were many federal prisoners in Preston County and soon there would be "thousands more" and they would need to be fed. Some have felt that the FEMA Internment Camp for West Virginia is at Camp Dawson there.

Only Rip van Winkle wouldn't know about the attack on the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms, especially by the United States Senate now aided and abetted by Broadway Joe who is now for national gun owner registration. This is coupled by the use of drones against American citizens in America & the use of the contraptions that can tell if one is armed or not. Sen. Rand Paul did get the big eared one's AG to admit that it would be illegal to kill US citizens on American soil that weren't actively doing something bad. Old Sen. McVain was furious that the Kentucky senator would have the audacity to stand up to the big eared one and his buddy Brennan who was selling arms to the Moslem terrorists in Benghazi.

In addition to the attack on the Second Amendment there is an attack on Free Speech. Some while back Sen. McVain, along with Russ Feingold had a law enacted to prevent speech, in effect against the incumbents before the election. This was challenged and the U. S. Supremes ruled in the case called "Citizens United" that free speech was still legal and those who opposed the state controlled media and such had a right to speak. This has caused lots of gastric distress among the bed wetters, Marxists and others who want complete control. Down at the Mouth of the Elk, Sen. Unger (who, he says, studied at the feet of Mother Teresa) along with Sen. Beach who speaks for the little university at Morgantown, Sam Cann who works for the Rockefellers Dominion, etc. and both of Calhoun's two senators came out in opposition to free speech. The litte elf, McCabe, who wants to eliminate the counties went along too. One could say that it is good to know who is for individual expression and who wants to have complete control like in Cuba and Venzuela where the dictator died.

When the dictator there died flags were flown at half mast in America and congresscritters and preachers went to the funeral. Karl Marx said that religion was the opiate of the people and in Marxist nations Christianity has been, in essence, banned. Makes one wonder about the preachers who espouse the dogma that is anti-Christian. Of course old Hugo the dictator who was "a champion of the poor" had amassed a personal fortune of $2 billion.

Albert Gore Jr.'s sale of the tee vee channel to Al Jazeera is back in the news since one of the brokers was stiffed on his commission of the $ 1/2 billion deal. Turns out Sen Diane Feinstein's hubby [whose name is Richard Blum] was in on the deal and certain of the dealings were, in addition to being treasonous, were blatantly illegal. It was duly noted that the Chinese communists also have been given tee vee access to America so they too can spread propaganda and influence politicians. Remember Charlie Tree who had a diner in Little Rock but had to flee to the peoples republic to avoid testifying against Hillary and Bill over shady deals involving the sale of military secrets to the Chinese enemy that now every day wages cyber war against America.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is $92.35 with drip fetching $81.93, Marcellus & Utica ligt $87.28 and medium $93.85/bbl.

One of the big excitements in Creston Sunday afternoon was a three way dog fight which was described as the alphas vs. the omegas or certainly some would have quickly become omegas if the fight had been allowed to continue as, at least one, would no longer be able to lead anything.
