| A St. Albans businessman who had fallen on hard times shot and killed himself while Kanawha County sheriff's deputies were trying to serve an eviction notice.
The 63-year-old man had been notified of the foreclosure.
When process servers and movers showed up about 10 a.m. to tell the man it was time to leave, the man was cooperative, authorities said.
When he went back inside to get his things, deputies heard a shot.
"It's sad. We know him, and he's a good guy,"
said Capt. James Agee of the St. Albans Police Department.
The man shot himself with a handgun.
