A Big Springs man has been indicted by a Lewis County grand jury on one felony count of making a terrorist threat and one count of public intoxication.
Gary Paul Ferrell, 55, was arrested after he left a food drive at the Mid-Way Vadis Fire Department in Lewis County, where he showed up and threatened to start shooting.
The criminal complaint says Ferrell became aggravated because he was asked to leave due to improper behavior.
Ferrell allegedly threatened people at the department with a firearm.
About 50 people were present when the alleged threats were made, the complaint said.
Ferrell left before anything happened, but police caught up with him a short time later, with an open container in his vehicle.
Ferrell had been arrested a week earlier in Parkersburg on
New Years Eve after he allegedly threatened to set his truck on fire.
When Ferrell said he was having a heart attack, paramedics were called to the scene, after which he got aggressive with the ambulance personnel and police.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.
