Debra "Debbie" LeNar Stalnaker, 61, of Spencer, West Virginia, went home to be with our Lord on February 27, 2013, following a short and unexpected illness.
She was born November 21, 1951 in Spencer, the daughter of Nada Goff Stalnaker Camp of Spencer and the late Marvin F. Stalnaker.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Walter E. Camp; grandparents, Fenton and Opal Stalnaker and Jeff and Orla Goff; aunt, Wanda Lee Stalnaker White; two uncles, Paul D. Stalnaker and William "Son" Stalnaker.
Debbie was a Christian and loved her family more than anything. She graduated from Spencer High School with the class of 1969 and received her Board of Regents degree from WVU. She was employed by Roane County Schools as a substitute teacher and after school tutor. She loved teaching and helping children. She was a member of the Alexander Baptist Church. She enjoyed sending cards to those that needed prayer. She was also a member of the Executive Committee of Roane County Republicans, the Roane General Hospital Auxiliary and the All Roane County Band.
In addition to her mother, survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Charlotte Stalnaker of Omaha NE, Marvin "Stormy" and Charlotte Stalnaker of Spencer, Robert and Sheila Camp of Collierville TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie Camp Rader and Russell of Charleston WV; four nephews, five nieces, 11 great nephews, five great nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Although Debbie had no children of her own, she loved all of her nieces and nephews equally as such.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 4 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Garry L. Bowen and the Rev. Andy Kinder officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call two hours before the service on Monday.
