John Roger Holliday of Newark OH, formerly of Grantville, died on February 16, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio due to complications from a heart attack.
He was the son of the late Harry Afton & Kathryn (Witt) Holliday, and was raised in Grantsville, WV. He later became a forty-six year resident of Newark, OH.
John received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University, Morgantown. His work career began as an Electrical Engineer for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp. at their Ravenswood, WV facility.
He continued his career with Kaiser until his retirement from their Newark, OH plant as Maintenance & Engineering Manager. He was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Newark, OH, where he served on the Vestry and as substitute Sunday School teacher.
Later in life, he became a member of the Christ Church Anglican, Columbus, Ohio. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, as well as the National Society of Professional Engineers for which he maintained his license past retirement.
John was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Kathryn (Holliday) Riddle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Ramona (Starcher) Holliday of Newark, OH; son John W. of Grandview Heights, OH, son Tyler and daughter-in-law Lynn of Newark, OH, son Charles and daughter-in-law Tracey of Burlison, TN; and daughter Mary Kathryn Dullforce of Wales, UK; six grandsons and seven granddaughters.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
