The nation's most widely respected groups that reports on academic performance continues to put the Mountain State near the bottom, while the WV Legislature and the West Virginia Board of Education are saying they are going to make major changes.
The latest report is pretty dismal.
While the number of West Virginia students who take Advanced Placement exams has more than doubled over the past decade, the state ranks near the bottom, 46th in the country, for the number of students who actually pass the test to obtain college credit, according to a report released Wednesday.
