REGULAR MEETING
CALHOUN COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
AUGUST 5, 2002
At the Office of the Superintendent, Grantville, West Virginia; Monday, August 5, 2002
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ralph Cunningham, Richard Fitzwater, Carlene Frederick, Donald Harris and Burl Simers

The meeting was called to order by President Fitzwater at 7 p.m.
MINUTES:
Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the minutes of the July 1, 2002 meeting be approved. Motion
carried unanimously.
DELEGATIONS:
Crissy Jones addressed the Board regarding use of the new football field for Youth League Football. It was the consensus of
the Board not to allow use of the field.

OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the Agreement between the Board of Education and the County
Commission regarding the Wayne Underwood Football Field be approved. Motion carried unanimously.
It was the consensus of the Board not to change the location of the CMS playground.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mrs. Frederick moved and Mr. Cunningham seconded that the following new business be approved as presented:

Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the Board enter into executive session at 8:03 p.m. for discussion
of personnel. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Simers moved and Mr. Cunningham seconded that the Board return to regular session at 8:52 p.m. Motion carried
unanimously.
Upon the Superintendent's recommendation, Mr. Cunningham moved and Mr. Simers seconded that the following matters be

ADJOURNMENT:
Mr. Cunningham moved and Mr. Simers seconded that the meeting adjourn at 8:58 p.m. with the next meeting September 3,
2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Board of Education Office. Motion carried unanimously.
