Thieves robbed a 68-year-old Nebo man over the weekend during what was described as a home invasion.
The man lives on Sugar Run off St. Rt. 16, not far from the Calhoun line.
State Police say the suspects allegedly confronted the man outside his home about 3 p.m. Sunday.
When they got the man inside his house, they taped his hands with duct tape and robbed him of a large amount of cash that was hidden in a root cellar.
Police said the victim suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.
Troopers believe the suspects knew the victim because they knew where the money was being stored.
The victim was reportedly tied up for several hours before he wiggled his way out of the tape and was able to cut it off with a pocket knife.
The victim then went to a neighbor's home, and he was taken to the State Police detachment at Big Otter to report the crime.
