| Several local students earned academic honors at West Virginia University for the fall semester.
Anastasia Cottrell of Spencer and Scott Huffman of Walton were named to president's list with a 4.0 average.
Named to dean's list for achieving a 3.5 or above average were Michael Hicks of Millstone and Ashley Houchin of Arnoldsburg, Rhett Atkinson, Erika Bragg, Katlynn Hildreth, and Mariah Moore, all of Spencer, Trevor Cummings of Gandeeville, Jeremy Samples and Madison Sergent of Walton.
