Long time arch rival Roane County (previously Spencer) is back on the Calhoun High School football schedule for the 2013 season after an absence of a couple of years.
The Raiders and Red Devils ended the rivalry briefly and Calhoun added Buffalo to the schedule for a two-year period. That contract was allowed to die and Calhoun was able to pick up the Raiders again.
Elsewhere the schedule remains the same.
The big difference is travel. This year just about all the away games are long trips with the game at Roane on Oct. 18 being the shortest trip of all by a long margin.
Other road games include Sherman, Doddridge, Tyler Consolidated and South Harrison.
Of those four Doddridge - about 60 miles away - is the closest by far.
Calhoun opens the season on Aug. 30 at home against Gilmer County.
The schedule:
08/30 (H) Gilmer
09/06 (A) Sherman
09/13 (A) Doddridge
09/20 (H) Parkersburg Catholic
09/27 (A) Tyler Consolidated
10/04 (A) South Harrison
10/11 (H) St. Marys
10/18 (A) Roane
10/25 (H) Wirt
11/01 (H) Clay
