Juanita E. "Kate" King Jenkins, 70, of 111 Fairground Road, Glenville, West Virginia departed this life to join her Lord and Savior at 9:15 a.m. , Thursday January 31, 2013 in the Genesis Health Care Facility, following an extended illness.
Born February 17, 1942 in Braxton County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Russell and Violet Howes Cottrill.
Kate was a homemaker, and Christian by faith. She was a very giving lady who loved socializing with anyone. Her eyes blind to social indifference and her heart always open to love. She touched all that knew her in own special way.
In 1978 she was united in marriage to Jack Jenkins, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Surviving are 5 children, William "Beaver" King of Ohio, Carolyn "Dutch" Blake and husband Pete of Glenville, Tab King of Glenville, John King and wife Robin of Wilsie, West Virginia, Randy Lambey of Clay, West Virginia; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Brenda Cottrell and husband Troy, and Shirley King, 2 brothers, Buster Cottrill and wife Cally, Bill Cottrill and wife Bobbi; 2 step brothers, Wayne Cottrill, and Calvin Cottrill and wife Betty, and special friend Cathern Losh of Glenville.
Along with her parents and husband, Kate was preceded in death by Coy King, the father of her 5 children and a long term friend Arthur Myers.
Memorial Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. Glenville, WV at 5:00 p.m. Saturday February 9, 2013 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Friends may call from 4-5 p.m., Saturday at the Mortuary.
At Kate's request, her remains will be cremated and her children will have private services at a later date. The family request in lieu of Flowers that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Genesis Health Care "Residents Fund" 111 Fairground road, Glenville WV, 26351.
