A Calhoun Grand Jury indicted nine individuals Thursday in Grantsville, including five people charged with meth making, according to prosecutor Shannon S. Johnson.
Ordie Jackson Rogers, 32, was re-indicted on charges related to the death of his two-month-old daughter, one count of child abuse resulting in death. (See additional story)
According to the indictment, Rogers, being a parent, guardian, or custodian, allegedly neglected a child under his care, custody, and control and by such neglect caused the infant's death. This case was investigated by Cpl. J. Bowles of the West Virginia State Police.
Those indicted on charges related to meth-making:
- Harley Clyde Little, 53, of Grantsville, two counts for operating and attempting to operate clandestine drug laboratories; one count for purchase, receipt, acquisition and possession of substances to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine or another controlled substance; one count of conspiracy.
- Jason Michael Bell, 32, of Annamoriah, two counts for operating or attempting to operate clandestine drug laboratories; one count for purchase, receipt, acquisition and possession of substances to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine or another controlled substance; one count of conspiracy.
The allegations against Little and Bell stem from two incidents on December 16, 2011, and December 20, 2011, investigated by Cpl. J. Kincaid of the West Virginia State Police.
- Charles Richard "Bucky" Bell. Jr., 25, of Grantsville, one count for operating or attempting to operate clandestine drug laboratories; one count of conspiracy.
- Issac Paul Bell, 23, of Grantsville, one count for operating or attempting to operate clandestine drug laboratories; one count of conspiracy.
- Allen Keith Carpenter, 22, of Arnoldsburg, one count for operating or attempting to operate clandestine drug laboratories; one count of conspiracy.
The allegations against Charles Bell, Isaac Bell, and Allen Keith Carpenter stem from an incident on September 19, 2011, investigated by Sgt. O. Starsick of the West Virginia State Police.
Also indicted:
- Stephen Thomas Mullins, 28, of Reedy, two counts for obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery deception or subterfuge.
According to the indictment, Mullins allegedly and illegally obtained Fentanyl and Morphine, both controlled substances. According to court records, the thefts occurred on two ambulances belonging to the Calhoun County EMS Squad. These charges were investigated by Cpl. T. Portillo of the West Virginia State Police.<
- Gary Paul Ferrell, 53, of Big Springs, four counts of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance.
Ferrell's indictment alleges that he sold morphine on April 3, 2012; April 19, 2012; and April 20, 2012. It also alleges that Ferrell sold Hydrocodone on April 20, 2012. These charges were investigated by Cpl. J. Kincaid of the West Virginia State Police.
- Dylan Paul Little, 21, of Big Springs, one count of arson 4th degree; one count of destruction of property; one count of possession of controlled substance.
Little's indictment stems from an incident on March 3, 2012, in which he allegedly attempted to set fire to Apartments 21 and 22 of Calhoun Homes in Mount Zion, WV. These charges were investigated by Cpl. J. Kincaid of the West Virginia State Police.
The Grand Jury also returned one indictment which was sealed by the Court and will be revealed at a later date, according to prosecutor Johnson.
Indictments returned against individuals are merely charges at this time and are not indications of guilt. All the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty, according to the prosecutor's office.
