Rhonda Pearl McCumbers, 93, of Nicut WV, passed away January 10, 2013 at Hubbard House in Charleston.
She was born September 29, 1919, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Eldridge and Nora Cottrell.
She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church at Lower Nicut, WV. She was employed as a cook for several years at the Beech Grove Elementary School and later worked at the Senior Citizens Center in Grantsville.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Bernard McCumbers on January 4, 2010. Two brothers, Ray and Hobert Cottrell, one sister, Dessie King and a daughter-in-law Mava McCumbers.
Surviving are her five sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Juanita McCumbers of Woolwine VA, Dare McCumbers of Spencer WV, Denzil and Marlene McCumbers of Rosedale WV, Robert (Buck) and Patty McCumbers of Elizabeth WV and Dwayne and Barbara McCumbers of Shiloh OH; two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra McCumbers of Parkersburg and Connie and Bill Hardman of Navarre OH; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg WV with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Interment will be in the Conley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
