Walton opened with a big lead and didn't open the gates of mercy as it hammered visiting Calhoun Middle School 67-24 Thursday night.
The Tigers took a 10-3 first quarter advantage and padded that with a 22-6 edge in the second quarter.
Despite having the game put away with a 32-9 halftime advantage the Tigers kept the pedal to the metal in the second half by outscoring CMS 15-8 in the third and 19-11 in the fourth.
Kaleb Greathouse scored a game high 26 for the Tigers while playing in all four quarters. Christian Mace also had double figures for Walton with 12.
Zack Yanero led Calhoun with eight while Trevor Carder and Jerry Jones added six apiece.
Chris Thornton added three, Jackson Taylor two and Sonny Wilson one.
Christopher Kirkland and Dave Jones both played but did not score.
Walton also won the B game but the Tigers had to struggle a bit to get past the improving CMS squad 47-26. The 26 points was Calhoun's high score for the season.
For Calhoun Ben Frederick led the way with 11.
Brady Fox had five for CMS while Levi Gregory had four, Jakiah Hickman and Aaron West had two each and Buck Marks one. Jaron Hall, Nolan Nelson, Ryan Miliron, Josh Schoolcraft and John Watkins all played but did not score.
Noah Ferrebee led Walton with 12 while Colin Greathouse added 10.
