MURDER SUSPECT SHOT BY POLICE - West Virginia State Police confirmed the shooting of a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide earlier this week in Logan.

Spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said he was notified that a suspect was shot and killed during a police chase in the Man area of Logan County at around 7 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect is John Edward Dempsey, 37. Police had been looking for Dempsey in connection with the homicide of 88-year-old Grover Morrison of Logan. Morrison's car was taken from his home following the shooting.

Dempsey carjacked a car and led troopers on a chase, but abandoned the car before pulling a gun on troopers near Man. Dempsey was then shot and killed.

GREENBRIER SLAYING - An argument in rural Greenbrier County left a man dead and a man in custody.

Sheriff Jan Cahill said deputies went to the Alta Mobile Home village Tuesday night and when they arrived they discovered Anthony Ramsey, 51, standing in the yard, claiming he shot an individual inside the home.

Police found Brian Meadows, 25, of Alta dead of a single gunshot wound.

Police said the two men had been in a verbal argument which escalated to gunfire.

Ramsey will be charged with first degree murder.

GAS STATION TARGETED AGAIN - A gas station hit several times by criminals in the past, has been targeted again.

Logan Police say a man walked into the Little General Store at the Fountain Place Shopping Center Wednesday, saying he had a gun and held it up.

He was able to get away with a large amount of cash.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

SON WAITED TO KILL FATHER - Authorities have more details surrounding the man who is said to have shot and killed his father in Preston County.

Prosecutors say Robert Tasker waited inside his dad's Cranesville home with a rifle to kill him. Dead is William Howard Tasker Jr.

Detectives said that Robert walked from Morgantown to his dad's home on Pond's Drive with the intention of killing him. Apparently when he wasn't home Robert waited inside the house for him to get there.

He was the one who made the call to 9-1-1 to report the shooting.

MAN WITH KNIFE - Parkersburg police responded to a homeless man walking down the street waving a large knife in the air.

Sergeant J.D. Hart made contact with Michael Glen Bollinger who was allegedly acting and speaking irrationally.

Bollinger eventually complied with officers commands and was safely detained.

A search of his person allegedly revealed a nine-inch fixed blade knife concealed under three winter coats.

Bollinger was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where he was processed on misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
