| Marie Vanhorn, 79, of Grantsville WV, passed away January 7, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta Ohio.
She was born August 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Tollie and Mary Elizabeth Hicks Jarvis. She was a former CNA at Roane General Hospital in Spencer and was retired from Spencer State Hospital.
Surviving is one daughter, Connie Starcher of Chloe; one son, Richard Vanhorn of Grantsville; three sisters, Evelyn Estep of Barberton Ohio, Dorma Ewing of Minnora WV and Geneva McKee of Illinois; three brothers, Virgil Jarvis of Orma WV, Fred Jarvis of Mt. Zion WV and Eddie Jarvis of Illinois; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Hencel James Vanhorn; two sons, Larry and Roger Vanhorn and a brother Donald Jarvis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg WV with Pastor Gene Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the services.
