Well-known Calhouner, Oda E. Carpenter has passed at age 98.
Oda loved his country and proudly served in WWII aboard the USS Fulton, a submarine tender in the Pacific.
Returning to Calhoun, he was the rural mailman for many years for the Millstone, Arnoldsburg, Mt. Zion and Daniel's Run route.
Oda was a stalwart at the Sand Ridge United Methodist Church, reveling in its historical contribution to the county.
