FIRE MARSHAL INVESTIGATING WALKER BLAZE - Fire Could Be Of Suspicious Origin

(08/02/2002)
The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire on Walker Road that destroyed a residence late Wednesday night.

Trooper J. D. Hunt was called, indicating the fire "could have been started by a fire bomb."

Officials with the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department felt the fire could be of suspicious origin.

Both Upper West Fork and Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Departments answered the call about 11 p.m. Wednesday. The occupants of the residence had apparently left, and the house was burning with no one present.

The house was gutted with an outbuilding being completely destroyed.

The fire rekindled early Thursday morning, and the fire departments were called again.
