Oswald D. Summers, 89, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
He was born in Orma, the son of the late Roscoe and Jessie (White) Summers. He served in Europe during World War II. He worked for Babcock & Wilcox and was a mechanic for Hudson Garage in Barberton OH. After 30 years, he retired from Ohio Brass. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed hunting in his younger days.
Surviving are one sister, Dormal Crawford of Wadsworth Ohio, and one brother, Lanny Summers of Massillon Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Opal (McCune) Summers whom he married on July 17, 1952, two brothers; Ronzel Summers and Charles Summers and two sisters, Ulinee Crawford and Naomi Ball.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with the Rev. Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Orma UMC Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
