Ella Mae Roberts Greathouse, 82, of Spencer, West Virginia died December 30, 2012 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer after a long illness.
Ella Mae was born April 10, 1930 in Spencer a daughter of the late Bronce and Ruth McCauley Roberts. During her lifetime, Ella Mae held several jobs including telephone operator, Staats Drug and as a cook for the Roane County Board of Education. She always considered her primary calling as that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Spencer.
Ella Mae loved flowers. She was an avid reader and was always there with an abundance of love for her family. She shall in deed be sorely missed.
She is survived by daughters, Becky and Marlin Benson of Ripley, West Virginia and Mendy and Chris Milhoan of Reedy, West Virginia; son, Robert J. and Susan Greathouse of Billings, West Virginia; two grandsons, Casey Benson of Ripley and Caleb Greathouse of Billings; four granddaughters, Cassie Greathouse of Billings, and Kelsey, Mariah and Neveah Milhoan, all of Reedy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Greathouse; one sister, Nelda Gregg of Vienna, West Virginia; and two brothers, Bill Roberts of Hayesville, North Carolina and Danny B. Roberts of Ripley.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Pastor Jim Shamblin officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
