Norma L. Looney Ketchum, 88, of Hockingport, Ohio, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.
She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to the late Peter and Clara (Wright) Looney.
She and her late husband, Harold Ketchum, opened and operated Ketchum's General Store in Hockingport for more than 50 years, and were a mainstay of support and service to the community throughout their lives. She attended the Hockingport United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ketchum was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; two brothers, Denzil and Harold Looney; and three sisters, Mae Hicks, Maude Hileman and Paulene Boso.
Norma is survived by her children, Karen (and Gilbert) Branham of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Roger Ketchum of Hockingport, Ohio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ralph Looney, also of Parkersburg.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery at Hockingport. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. |
