| Denise Louise Smith, age 43 of Normantown WV, departed this life at 2:04 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2012 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness.
She was born August 19, 1969 in Prince George County, Maryland a daughter of Basil and Barbara Moran Dungan of Doddridge County.
Denise was a graduate of Gilmer County High School Class of 1988; a former employee of the Gilmer Co. Senior Citizens as a home health care provider; she was always taking care of her children and anyone else's who needed a place to stay or to be taken care of. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
On June 9, 1988 she was united in marriage to James Smith who survives at their Normantown home.
Four children survive, Brandi Cottrill, Kenneth Smith, Jessica Smith and Donald Smith all of Normantown. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2012 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery, Grantsville. Friends may call 1-2 p.m., at the Mortuary.
