Edith Harold Vineyard-Jarvis, 91 of Newton WV, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at CAMC-General, Charleston.
She was born December 5, 1921 at Newton, a daughter of the late Kelly S. and Ethel G. Keen Harold.
Edith was a retired employee of the Clay County Bank, having served as an assistant cashier. She was also a member of the Newton United Methodist Church, and Linden Chapter 152 O.E.S. Edith loved volunteering and helping her friends, family, and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell W. Vineyard; brother, James Harold; sister, Mildred Harold; and a great-grandson, Shawn Burdette.
She is survived by her husband, Cloyde W. "Bill" Jarvis; son, Neal F. Vineyard and his wife Carole; daughter, Nancy J. Cottrell and her husband Jackie, all of Newton; brothers, Kelly Harold Jr. of Brunswick OH, Charles Harold of Glenville WV, Paul Harold Sr. of Newton, Betty Jean Tenney of Madison OH. Also surviving are grandchildren, Neal Vineyard Jr., Michele King, Jay Cottrell, Kristi Burdette, Misti Naylor, and Michael Vineyard; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Casey, Emily, Brianna, Alexis, and Olivia.
Funeral service will be Thursday, December 20, at 1 pm at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer with Pastor Paul Koon officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.
