The West Virginia Department of Transportation will launch the new system Wednesday to help state motorists.
It's the 511 Traveler Information System.
Motorists can get real-time traffic information, including congestion, crashes, construction, lane closures, road conditions and severe weather information on all of West Virginia's interstates and other major highways.
State DOH Intelligent Transportation Systems Coordinator Bruce Kenney said the agency conducted a feasibility study and got positive feedback from the public surrounding the idea.
