A Chapmanville man shot his wife to death with a handgun after they got into an argument at the Roadway Inn. He shot her in the head.
Logan State Police arrested a Peck's Mill resident Gary Terry, 36, is charged with first degree murder.
Troopers say Terry and his wife, Karen Blankenship, got into an argument at the Roadway Inn.
Karen Blankenship was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV., suffering from severe head trauma, where she died a short time later.
Police told state media that it would be a common practice for bar patrons to have concealed weapons.
Troopers arrested Terry, who is in South Central Regional Jail.
MURDER/ATTEMPTED SUICIDE -
Violence erupted in Point Pleasant Sunday.
Police say an estranged couple were fighting inside of a home when the man pulled out a gun and shot the woman.
Officers say the man then turned the gun on himself.
The woman, whose name has not been released, died.
The man was transported to Pleasant Valley Hospital and then airlifted to a critical care hospital, and later died.
Police say there were children in the home when the argument started, but luckily they were unharmed.
CHARLESTON STABBING - A Charleston man has been arrested after the alleged stabbing of his ex-girlfriend during a fight early Sunday morning.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim with two cuts on her forearm.
The woman said her ex-boyfriend, Erique Harris, stabbed her, sexually assaulted her and then took off.
Officers found Harris and arrested him, recovering a knife with the victim's blood.
Harris is charged with malicious wounding. Sexual assault charges are pending.
