MULTIPLE SHOOTINGS IN HUNTINGTON - Huntington police are investigating two multiple shootings in two days that left one person dead and five people injured.
Police tell media outlets that 22-year-old Darrell Fugua of Detroit was fatally shot and two other people were wounded Tuesday at a home. Nineteen-year-old Rocky Hudson Williams is charged with murder in that incident.
Police searched for a male suspect in the second incident Wednesday night.
Police say the man knocked on the door of an apartment and opened fire when the door was opened. Three adults were wounded. Three young children inside the apartment weren't injured.
PARKERSBURG OFFICER FACES DANGEROUS CALL -
A press release from the Parkersburg Police Department,
says Officer J.D. Pinkerton was dispatched to Lakeview Center in north Parkersburg
in reference to a possible intoxicated man.
Officer Pinkerton observed a man matching the
provided description standing next to a car in the parking
lot.
While speaking to Anthony Ryan Peters, Officer
Pinkerton asked him to remove his hands from his pocket
after becoming suspicious.
Peters then allegedly removed a silver handgun,
immediately pointing it at his own head. Officer Pinkerton
took cover and began ordering Peters to drop the weapon.
Peters eventually complied with the officer dropping the gun
to the ground.
After Peters was secured without further incident, Officer
Pinkerton recovered the weapon allegedly finding it to be a
fully loaded 45 caliber handgun. Another fully loaded
magazine was allegedly found on Peters when searched.
Peters was taken to headquarters and processed on charges of
public intoxication and brandishing a weapon, according to Sgt. Greg Collins.
