A former Calhoun man charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend's three-year-old son, waived his preliminary hearing Monday in Wood County Magistrate Court.
A grand jury will take up the case against Matthew Lamp, 29, of Parkersburg.
Prosecutors allege Lamp seriously injured the child last month leading to his death.
Police say Lamp was supposed to be caring for the boy when he violently struck him.
Lamp remains in the North Central Regional Jail.
