Virgil Richards, 79, of Washington, W.Va., passed away Sept. 15, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Calhoun County, W.Va., son of the late George and Velva Webb Richards.
Virgil retired from Storks Bakery after 36 years; he enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virgil was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Mae Crislip Richards; one daughter, Kathy Montgomery of Washington, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Deidra Montgomery, Brandy Montgomery and Eryn Horton and husband Dean; two great-grandchildren, Dakkotah Perkins and Landen Montgomery; one sister, Betty Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two brothers, Joe Richards of North Eaton, Ohio, and George Richards of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Richards; and one sister, Maxine Russell.
American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg, will conduct full military honors at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Green Street, Parkersburg, where visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
At Virgil's request, there will be no service.
