Virginia A. Fisher, 94, of Spencer, West Virginia died September 2, 2012 at the Miletree Center in Spencer after a long illness.
She was born February 4, 1918 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Earl and Rosa Clarkson Keffer. She worked for Grover Foster Hedges for most of her life and enjoyed making hooked braided rugs and quilting. She was a member of the Keffer United Methodist Church and later the Spencer Tabernacle Church.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Sandra Golden and her husband, Maurice of Peniel, West Virginia and Linda Hoff and her husband, Bill of Spencer; two sons, Richard Fisher of Clover, West Virginia and Steve Fisher and his wife, Robin of Spencer; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Blake Fisher; second husband, Grover Tanner; one sister, Verneda Rhodes; and two half-brothers, Ronald and Ronford Clarkson.
Service 11:00am Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Danny Whited and Bill Walton officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home |
