Woodrow Gerald Mace, 78, of Boaz, died July 14, 2002, at St. Joseph's
Hospital.
He was born November 2, 1923, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Clyde and
Mary Angerstein Mace.
He was a 1940 graduate of PHS and a Navy veteran of WWII. He retired from
Corning Glass in 1981.
He is survived by three brothers, Denver Mace, Clyde "Buster" Mace and
Conard "Bun" Mace; a sister, Mary Mace; eight children, Woody Mace, Sandra
Flanagan, Cathy Spears, Penny Oldaker, Susan Richards, Lesa Richards,
Woody Mace II and Tammy Burge; 13 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Mae
Deaton Mace; seven brothers and sisters; a son and a grandson.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Friendly Cemetery
in Friendly, WV, with Dr. Bill Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday
2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. |
