ELKVIEW STABBING - A man has been charged with malicious wounding in connection with a stabbing in Elkview.
Derek James Bailey, 23, of Elkview was charged following a stabbing on Rutledge Road.
When police arrived they found the victim, Keary Drake, on the ground with a wound to his stomach, according to a criminal complaint.
The victim told deputies he was helping his niece move out of the suspect's residence when the suspect made a remark about his niece, and Drake and Bailey got involved in an argument.
Drake punched Bailey and during the ensuing fight Bailey grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the stomach, according to the complaint.
Drake was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center/General Division.
WOMAN STABS BOYFRIEND - A Charleston woman was charged with malicious wounding after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the chest on the West Side of Charleston.
Stacey McCormick was charged after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a pocketknife, police say.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
CHARLESTON CAR WINDOWS SHOT OUT - Charleston Police said dozens of car windows have been shot at within the past few weeks by a person or people driving around with a pellet gun.
About 12 or 15 people have reported their car windows shot out since Tuesday morning, said Charleston Police Sgt. Eric Hodges.
The shots appear to be made at random late at night or in the early morning hours. They produce small pea-sized holes and sometimes shatter the glass completely.
