| Cara Leah Hicks Franck, 40, of Spencer, died at 2:25 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012, in the CAMC-Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness.
She was born October 10, 1971, in Spencer, the daughter of John C. and Christie L. Nicoles Hicks of Spencer.
Cara was a medical transcriptionist. She enjoyed painting, reading, cooking and facebook. She was a 1989 graduate of Spencer High School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Corey (Michele Chapman) Hicks of Raleigh, NC; maternal aunt, Deborah Nicoles of Spencer; and several paternal aunts.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hershal and Lorene Nicoles; paternal grandparents, Bryan and Mary Alice Hicks.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Harold Lanham officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
