| Eugene D.Hicks, 72, of Arnoldsburg, WV, died July 11 in Minnie Hamilton Health Care
Center, Grantsville.
Born in Roane County, he was a son of Mrs. Rosie Falls Hicks of Arnoldsburg and the late Earl
Hicks. He was a tool dresser in the oil and gas drilling industry and was a US Army Veteran of
the Korean War. He was a member of the Grantsville VFW.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Mrs. Arlene Stump Hicks and two sons, Harles
Eugene Hicks of Spencer, WV and Edward D. Hicks of Arnoldsburg; a step-daughter, Loraine
Bailey of North Carolina; two brothers, Dayton Hicks of Orma, WV and James Hicks of Mt. Zion;
two sisters, Leota Liehen of Newark, Ohio and Mary Hicks of Gassaway, WV; ten grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Stump Funeral home, Arnoldsburg. Reverend
Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
