WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Parkersburg Police Busy With Gun Incidents

PARKERSBURG MAN BARRICADES WITH SHOTGUN - Parkersburg Police were called to Neal Street in reference to a barricaded man armed with a shotgun.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the home, gathered intelligence from the man's girlfriend, and called for S.W.A.T. and Crisis Negotiators, according to a press release.

Police were able to get the 40-year-old male to voluntarily come outside and surrender to officers without incident.

No criminal charges will be filed.

GUNFIRE AND FIGHT IN PARKERSBURG - Shortly after 5:00 a.m., Parkersburg Police responded to Grafton Street in reference to a fight.

Upon arrival, officers observed eight to 10 people either in the street or on the sidewalk.

During the investigation, Andre Cornelius Jackson allegedly continued to refuse to comply with officers instructions and was taken into custody for obstructing and public intoxication.

All other persons involved in the incident refused to provide information regarding the fight and other arrests were made.

At approximately 6:00 a.m., officers were called back to the area in reference to shots being fired.

Responding officers arrived quickly and began checking the area for injured persons.

With no injuries discovered, officers began the process of interviewing witnesses and locating evidence.

Multiple witnesses from the three apartment complex and surrounding area described hearing from four to seven shots fired.

Preliminary findings by detectives indicate that at least eight shots were fired from the roadway area in front of the apartment, with several rounds striking the building and at least four rounds entering the interior of the upstairs apartment.

Detectives are currently looking for two females who were reportedly driving a silver or like colored SUV.

Detective J.M. Stalnaker is the lead investigator on the case.
