| Richard D. "Dick" Vincent, 59 of Elizabeth, West Virginia, was received into the arms of the Lord that he loved so much, on Saturday July 28, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was born on December 19, 1952 to the late John J. and Helen (Waggoner) Vincent, of Elizabeth.
He was the devoted husband of 40 years to Sandra "Sandy" (Hupp) Vincent, and a wonderful loving father to, Ryan Vincent (Michelle Anderson), Joseph "Joey" Vincent, (Debbie), and Jeremy Vincent (Charity).
Dick adored his 5 grandchildren, Becca Jo Haught, Christopher Todd Vincent, Lacey Nichole Vincent, Katelynn Dawn Townsend, and Courtney Elizabeth Vincent. He was a wonderful friend and brother to Michael Taylor, and Debbie Moore (Arlan), and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by both parents; grandson Benjamin Robert Vincent; his sister, Patricia Long; brother-in-law Jim Long, niece and nephew Andrea and Jamie Long, and father-in-law Robert E. Hupp.
He attended Big Island Run Church. He was an avid golfer and a WV Mountaineer and Wirt County Tiger fan. He was also an outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting.
He was employed at O. Ames plant 1, and later by (Borg/Warner) G.E Plastics.
Dick was the former president of the Wirt County Athletic Boosters, and former Vice president of Wirt Co. Football Boosters. He was a 1970 graduate of Wirt County High School, and a past Mingo Bottom Golf Club Champion.
We will be celebrating Dick's life and he is now "Standing in The Son".
The celebration will be on Tuesday July 31, 2012 at 12-noon at the Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, WV.
Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Monday July 30, and from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
Interment will be the K. of P. Cemetery, Elizabeth.
