Fire quickly grows into a roaring,
inferno, with family losing everything
Fire quickly engulfed a Crummis Creek house just before noon Thursday, completely destroying all of the family's belongings.
Crystal Dennis said she was in a bedroom sorting through her deceased mother's belongings when she returned to the living room, to discover the fire.
Dennis called 911, rescued a family dog, but failed to rescue a mother cat and her kittens.
Dennis (left) said her husband Daniel was in Ripley and her three children, twin girls Alison and Maltilda and Jabowa, 12, all were attending Energy Express.
"I lost all the things that were important to our family," she said, in addition to appliances, furniture and clothing.
The Arnoldsburg and Upper West Fork Fire Departments responded to the blaze.
If community members are interested in helping the Dennis family, they can call 304-377-3303 or 304-655-9912.
