Arnoldsburg's Summer Academy and Kinder Academy concluded their first week with a wet and wild time! After a week of
exercising the brain with a daily dose of reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic, it was time to exercise the body. On Friday students
were put through an arduous test of strength and endurance. The school grounds were transformed into an obstacle course
that a Marine drill sergeant would have trouble navigating. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. Then again, maybe not!
Can you picture a Marine sitting in a pool of Jell-o trying to find a jellybean?
To successfully complete the course students had to pair up with a partner (who had to be a new student or someone they
didn't know) and work obstacles together. The theme of Arnoldsburg's summer programs is building character. Making new
friends and working together for a common good fit nicely into the theme.
