| Ruby Chloe Presley Harper, 102, of Spencer, West Virginia passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She was born Nov. 29, 1909 at Boyd, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Della and Dillie Kiser Presley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wolf Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Alonzo Robert Harper, Jr. and wife Pauline of Spencer; two granddaughters, whom she and her late husband raised, Corena and husband Larry Dolan and Terena and husband Phil Jones, both of Spencer; four other grandchildren, Susan and husband Robert Bober of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Robert Buddy Hill, Danita and husband Joe Callihan of Paxton, Nebraska, and Christopher Scott Harper of Zanesville, Ohio; three step grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alonzo Robert Harper, Sr.; a daughter, Roberta Mae Thompson; a granddaughter, Sharon Miller; six sisters, Vada Smith, Myrtle Harper, Freda Harper, Gail Raines, Marie Presley, and Virgie Taylor; and an infant brother.
Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer with Rev. Tim Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Ferrell Cemetery on Vicars Ridge. Visitation is Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. |
