William G. Leary, Sr., 82, of Reedy, West Virginia, died July 14, 2012 at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division in Charleston, West Virginia.
He was born March 10, 1930 in Reedy, a son of the late John B. Leary and Nettie E. Leary. He served and retired from the US Air Force with over 24 years of service having served in Korea and Vietnam and was also retired from Falcon Jet in Little Rock, Arkansas. He formerly worked as a supervisor at Banquet Foods and also worked as a community volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels and Senior Citizens Center activities. He was Catholic by faith.
Mr. Leary is survived by one daughter, Teresa Philippy of Nokesville, Virginia; two sons, William G. Leary, Jr. of Vancouver, Washington and Joseph P. Leary of Shelbyville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Edralee G. Webb Leary in 1999; four sisters, Audrey, Roxie, Myrl and Madge; and four brothers, Howard, Carl, Edwin and John.
Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 am Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth, West Virginia with Father Tom Chacko officiating.
Visiting hours are from 4:00 to 6:30 pm Wednesday at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia. Burial will be in the Stony Point Cemetery near Reedy. |
