Anoldsburg's Summer Academy selected Emily Thomas as Volunteer of the Week for the period of July, 1 through 5, 2002. The youngest volunteer, Emily is also one of the most valuable. She has worked in the kitchen, in Kinder Academy with the youngest children, in Summer Academy's Kindergarten through first grade classroom and even in the office, tracking registration and permission slips. She takes on every assignment with a smile and a "can do" attitude. Emily is dependable, creative and gives 110% to every job.
Emily is the daughter of Charles and Earlene Thomas of Chloe. She is 12 years old and is entering seventh grade this fall. "What's wrong with the young people these days?" I do not know, but with kids like Emily, I sure can tell you what's right! The staff and students give their wholehearted thanks to Emily Thomas, our Volunteer of the Week!
