| Calhoun OES/911 Director Kathy Wood said Wednesday that an American Red Cross article appearing in the Calhoun Chronicle was somewhat misleading.
Wood said the article implied the ARC was responsible for the shelter operated by the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department throughout the disaster.
"The shelter, which also provided food, water and ice to the community. was manned by members and volunteers associated with the Grantsville VFD," Wood said.
"The Red Cross did deliver meals to the shelter operation, but I think it is important to recognize the fire department that has volunteered long hours for several days now," Wood concluded.
