Robert Lee "Big Slim" Webb, 74, of Walton, West Virginia, completed his journey here on earth at 8:52 a.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012.
He was born September 2, 1937, in Roane County, a son of the late Gerald Webb and the late Hattie Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, JoAnne; brother, Ronald; and sister, Rose Marie.
Big Slim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jaunita; a son, Robert Allen (Amy) of Virginia; brothers, Fred (Debbie) of Ft. Worth, TX, Richard of Amma, sister, Linda (John) Meadows of Spencer; grandchildren, Christopher, Ashlee and Paige; great grandchildren, Haleigh and Justin Dawson-Webb; ex daughter-in-law, Jackie Sigman.
Robert lived a life full of love and happiness. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time at the fire department. He was a member of the Walton Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years. He served as the assistant fire chief for a period of time. He was disabled from Appalachian Pipeline.
Robert touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. You could always fine him lending a hand to everyone in the Walton and surrounding communities.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Dan McClung officiating. Burial will be in the Epling Chapel Cemetery, Looneyville. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
