Winifred Virginia Bowser, 100, of Parkersburg died June 21, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 9, 1912 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Alta Bowser Hopkins and Park Bowser.
She lived most of her life in Parkersburg, where she taught piano for several years. She retired from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services and also worked for the Bowser Gas and Oil Company, serving as Vice President. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Schmidt and Mary Bickel, and brothers, Paul Bowser, Bernard Bretney Bowser, and Owen Bowser.
She is survived by nieces, Ann Bailey, Jane Pritchard, Sally Craig and Sue Bowser; nephew, Bob Bickel; loyal friends and neighbors, Linda and Roger Green.
Graveside services at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Reverend G.T. Schramm officiating.
