Margie M. Nester, 64 of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and her pet Zip after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born January 16, 1948 in Calhoun County the daughter of the late Bertha Starcher. She attended the Cremo Church. She was a housekeeper and worked for the D.O.H. for many years before retiring to enjoy favorite pastime of sewing.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa (Jerry) Bower of Parkersburg WV and Vicky (Larry) Stull of Mt. Zion; two stepsons, Michael Nester of Grantsville WV and Richard Nester of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Don Freshour of Burning Springs WV and Pete Starcher of New Braunfels TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Alpheus Nester; three brothers, Woodrow, Ben and Harold; and two sisters, Geraldine and Earldine.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV with Rev. Roger Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Hur Cemetery at Mt. Zion.
