Jack Lee Smith, 76, of Riverside,NJ, passed away on June 9th 2012 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in West Virginia, a former resident of Arnoldsburg, he was a graduate of Calhoun County High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Smith retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years of service as a Postal Carrier in Riverside, Delran, & Delanco. A Member of the First Moravian Church of Riverside, he was also a member of the American Legion Post #146 in Riverside and the Riverside/Delran Lions Club.
An avid gardener and antique collector, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Son of the late Burl and Elsie (Sturm) Smith and the brother of the late Mary Frances Johnson, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maryann (Pfau).
Three sons and their spouses: Stephen E. & Sheryl (Belair, MD), Robert S. & Joanne (Hainesport, NJ), and Jeffrey D. & Dana Smith (Orlando, FL); 7 grandchildren (Kara (Harley) Main, Jeremy, Robert Jr., Kristalyn, Amanda, Alicia, and Genna Smith), & 5 great-grandchildren.>{?
Survived by two brothers and their spouses: Ernest R. & Nila Smith and Burl Jr. & Adriana Smith; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins.
Funeral services were held at the First Moravian Church in Riverside, NJ.
